Start with industry and review sites such as Avvo, Justia, FindLaw, Martindale-Hubbell, Lawyers.com. Then add general and local directories for your city and state.
Mistakes to avoid
- Leaving an old address or phone number on one directory
- Writing Suite, Ste, and # differently on different sites
- Creating a duplicate listing instead of claiming the existing one
- List the firm name the same way as the state bar, and avoid adding practice-area keywords to the name.
